Yangshuo is famous
for a profusion of scenic hills and rivers. The Lijiang and Tianjia Rivers, which
run by the town, are the two largest of the 12 rivers in the county. Peaks
are so peculiar, so beautiful and so many that they are seen one after
another to an incalculable extent.A popular riverboat trip is to the
picturesque village of Fuli, a shout distance
down the Li River, where you'll see stone houses and cobbled lanes. If
you're keen on a river trip, the thing is that about three hours upstream
from Yangshuo, the
mountain scenery around Xing ping is
breathtaking, and there are many caves. |

Traveling deep into the mountain area of Guizhou, a
province tucked away in Southwest China, we will explore traditional
ethnic minority villages inhabited by Miao and Dong groups, and travel
further to meet the enigmatic Gejia people, who are unfamiliar to even the
(Han) Chinese. We will travel from one village to another, meeting
colorfully dressed ethnic minority people selling goods in the markets,
making tofu or cultivating rice in their fields. If we are lucky, we might
chance upon one of their vibrant festivals, which are held throughout the
lunar calendar. This trip offers a unique opportunity to spend time in one
of China's most isolated regions, appreciating ancient architectural
styles and local customs of the ethnic minorities, while at the same time
enjoying the unspoiled beauty of its mountains and valleys...

Fenghuang(Phoenix town) is a town out of time. Hemmed in
by rolling mountains and watered by a smoothly flowing river, flagstone
streets, rows of traditional wooden houses built on stilts, towers,
bridges everywhere, small boats rowed down the river, that's a portrait of
Fenghuang. It's an authentic ancient town not too touristy. Fenghuang is
located at the southwest ridge of central China's Hunan Province. The
region's terrain drops off in escarpment from northwest to southeast. The
highest elevation is 1,117 meters while the lowest elevation is 170
meters. The area has beautiful scenery with undulating mountains and
ranges, deep valleys, wooden covered forests and rivers. |

The region of Xishuangbanna is in the deep south
of Yunnan, next to the Myanmar and Lao borders. There is home to many
unique species of plant and animal life. The jungle areas that remain
contain dwindling numbers of wild tigers, leopards, elephants
and golden-haried monkeys. Here about one-third of the 800,000-strong
population of this region are Dai.
